How TradeMind Works: The Daily Pledge, Readiness Score and Tilt Protocol

TradeMind: Trading Psychology is an iPhone app (App Store ID 6761249038) for traders: a daily pledge with loss limits, a readiness score, a Tilt Protocol for the minute after a loss, and 70 audio lessons. It gives no trade signals and does not connect to your broker or prop-firm account.

Key takeaways

  • The TradeMind Daily Pledge sets a daily loss limit, a trade cap and one if-then rule before the open. You seal it with a 1.5-second hold.
  • The TradeMind Trader Readiness score adds pledge 40, reset 30 and checklist up to 30. It is capped at 60 without a pledge and at 50 on any day you log that you acted on tilt.
  • The TradeMind Tilt Protocol has three steps: name the urge, read six cards over a camera mirror that records nothing, then choose to resist or admit the tilt.
  • Discipline Points pay for process only: never for P&L and never for logging a tilt.
  • Everything is self-reported. There is no broker connection, no trade import and no signal of any kind.

What is TradeMind?

TradeMind: Trading Psychology, the iPhone trading psychology app (App Store ID 6761249038) by Nikolaos Aristotelis Adamidis, is a daily routine for active traders. It is built around three moments: before the open, the minute after a loss, and after the close.

It runs on what you tell it. It does not read your account, your charts or your P&L, and it never suggests a trade. It has been on the App Store (opens in a new tab) since 11 June 2026, in the Finance category, for iPhone with iOS 17.6 or later. You can read who makes TradeMind on the about page.

Other products use the TradeMind name. This page describes only the iPhone app with App Store ID 6761249038.

The rest of this page gives the exact rules, taken from the app's code on 25 September 2026. If you want the short version first, the homepage explains the trading psychology app for iPhone in a few screens.

What is the TradeMind Daily Pledge?

The TradeMind Daily Pledge is a short contract you sign before the open. It asks for three decisions while you are calm, so you do not have to make them after the first loss. It takes three screens, which the app calls gates:

  1. Gate 01, The Limits. A daily loss limit in dollars or in R. The presets are $100, $200, $300 and $500, or 1R, 2R, 3R and 5R, with plus and minus buttons for any other value. The default is $300. Then the most trades you will take today, from 1 to 12, starting at 3.
  2. Gate 02, The Guardrail. One if-then sentence built from the two lists below. The trigger is pre-selected from your answer in the onboarding quiz, and you can change it.
  3. Final gate, The Oath. Your why, the trader identity you chose, and the oath: "I will execute my edge. I will respect my limits. I will honor my guardrail."
  4. Seal it. Press and hold for 1.5 seconds. The screen reads "Contract sealed".
If... (trigger)Then I... (response)
I take a losing tradestep away for 10 minutes
I'm on a winning streakclose the platform for the day
the market moves without melog it in the Tilt Protocol before acting
I feel bored or restlesstake a walk and reset

Any trigger can go with any response, so there are 16 possible guardrails. You sign one pledge per day. Signing adds 40 to today's readiness score, removes the cap of 60, earns 20 Discipline Points once a day, counts as a streak day and cancels the 9:15 ET reminder.

Warning

The pledge is self-reported. TradeMind cannot see your account, so it does not know whether you hit your loss limit or your trade cap, and it cannot stop an order. There is no end-of-day screen that scores the pledge. Keeping it is up to you.

The guardrail is an implementation intention: a plan in the form "if situation X, then I do Y". Gollwitzer described the idea in 1999, and a 2006 meta-analysis by Gollwitzer and Sheeran of 94 independent tests found a medium-to-large effect on reaching goals. Those studies were not about traders. Our guides on if-then trading rules and how to set a daily loss limit show how to choose the numbers.

How is the TradeMind Trader Readiness score calculated?

The TradeMind Trader Readiness score is a number from 0 to 100 that sums up how prepared you say you are today. It resets each day and is built from these parts:

PartPointsRule
Daily Pledge signed+40Signed today
Mindset routine+30Any reset completed today
Pre-market checklist0 to +30Share of your own items ticked, times 30, rounded down
Streak+5Your streak is over 3 days
Each urge resisted+5Each "I chose to resist" in the Tilt Protocol today
Each tilt-20Each "I tilted" in the Tilt Protocol today

Then three rules apply, in this order:

  1. The total is kept between 0 and 100.
  2. If you logged any tilt today, the score cannot go above 50 for the rest of the day.
  3. Otherwise, if you have not signed today's pledge, it cannot go above 60.

Here is how that works on a real day:

Your dayMathsScore
Pledge, a reset, 3 of 4 checklist items, a 5-day streak40 + 30 + 22 + 597
The same day, then one "I tilted"97 - 20 = 77, capped50
The same day, then one "I chose to resist"97 + 5 = 102, kept at the maximum100
A reset and the full checklist, no pledge, a 5-day streak30 + 30 + 5 = 65, capped60

Tap the gauge on Home to see the ledger line by line. The checklist is yours: you add the items, such as the ones in our pre-market trading checklist.

Note

The readiness score is a self-reflection measure. Its weights are design choices, not research findings, and no study has validated it or linked it to trading results. Use it to see whether you did your routine, not to predict a trade.

What is the TradeMind Tilt Protocol?

The TradeMind Tilt Protocol is a routine for the minute after a loss, or any moment you feel an urge to break your rules. It opens from the "Tilt Protocol" button that floats above the tab bar on Home, and it has three steps:

  1. Diagnose yourself. Pick the state you are in and rate its intensity from 1 to 10.
  2. The mirror. The front camera opens as a live mirror. It is a preview only: the camera session has no photo or video output, so nothing is recorded or saved. Over it you tap through six cards: "Remind yourself why you trade", "I am" plus your identity, "I trade" plus your why, then three lines for the state you picked.
  3. The moment of truth. Tap "I chose to resist" or "I tilted".
StateHow the app describes it
RevengeWanting to hurt the market back.
FOMOChasing price. Impatient.
FearFrozen. Scared to pull the trigger.
BoredomCraving action. Gambling.
TiltedComplete emotional hijacking.

For FOMO, for example, the three lines are "Price will come to me.", "If I miss it, I miss it." and "Patience pays."

Your choiceToday's readinessWhat else happens
I chose to resist+5Logged with the state and intensity; counts as a streak day
I tilted-20, and capped at 50 for the dayLogged; counts as a streak day; a check-in is scheduled for 8:45 ET the next trading morning

Neither choice earns or costs Discipline Points, so an honest "I tilted" never hurts your rank. For the steps to take away from the app, read what to do after a losing trade and what tilt in trading means.

What breathing resets does TradeMind include?

TradeMind has four guided resets under "Calibrate your state". Each has three timed steps:

ResetStepsTotal
Pre-Session FocusCentering (1 min), Price Action Breath (2 min, resonance: 4 s in, 6 s out), Stoic Visualization (3 min)6 min
Reset After LossThe STOP Method (30 s), Box Breathing (2 min, 4-4-4-4), Reality Check (1 min)3.5 min
End of Day ReviewPhysical Disconnect (2 min), Parasympathetic Brake (3 min, 4-7-8), Luck Attribution (1 min)6 min
Victory GroundingThe same three steps as Pre-Session Focus6 min

Finishing any reset fills the 30-point mindset part of today's readiness score, earns 10 Discipline Points once a day and counts as a streak day.

What the research says, with its limits: a 2018 systematic review by Zaccaro and colleagues looked at 15 studies of breathing below 10 breaths a minute in healthy people. It linked slow breathing with more relaxation and less anxiety and arousal, but the methods varied too much to pool. All three of TradeMind's patterns are that slow: about 6 (resonance), 3.75 (box) and 3.2 (4-7-8) breaths a minute. In a 2023 trial of 108 adults, Balban and colleagues found that exhale-focused cyclic sighing improved mood more than mindfulness meditation, while box breathing did not differ significantly. None of TradeMind's resets uses cyclic sighing. The free breathing reset timer on this site does. Slow breathing may help you feel calmer; it is not a treatment for anything.

What is Dr. Noesis?

Dr. Noesis, the AI coach inside TradeMind: Trading Psychology, is a chat built on Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash model through Firebase AI Logic. It is software, not a person. It is not a psychologist, a therapist or a licensed professional of any kind.

Dr. Noesis seesDr. Noesis does not see
Your name, your why and the identity you choseYour trades, positions or P&L
Your quiz risk score, main saboteur and main triggerCharts, prices or any market data
The messages in the current chatYour pledge, readiness score, journal or Tilt Protocol logs

Its instructions ask for short replies of at most 3 or 4 sentences, focused on accountability, with probing questions. It must give no financial advice and no buy or sell calls. When it quotes someone, it may only quote a fixed list of 17 investors and philosophers, such as Seneca and Howard Marks.

Chats are not saved to your account: the history lasts only while that chat is open. It needs an internet connection, because your messages and the profile fields above are sent to Google's model to write each reply. If trading is affecting your health or your money, Dr. Noesis is not the right help; start with our page on trading stress and burnout, which lists helplines.

What are the 70 audio lessons?

The lessons work like a short trading psychology audio course: 70 lessons in 7 tracks of 10, each aimed at one problem. You can see the tracks on the lessons section of the homepage.

TrackSubtitleFirst lesson
Revenge TradingEmotional RecoveryLoss Aversion
Killing FOMODiscipline & PatienceThe Herd Instinct
Mastering FearExecution ConfidenceThe Amygdala Hijack
Curing BoredomDopamine ManagementDopamine Loops
Stopping TiltNervous System ControlThe Tilt Spectrum
Taming GreedProfit ManagementThe Euphoria Trap
Trusting Your SystemEarned ConvictionThe Statistical Edge

How each lesson works:

  1. Audio. Each lesson runs 3:20 to 5:47, about 5.3 hours across all 70. It keeps playing with the screen locked, with 15-second skip controls.
  2. Written notes. A "Lesson intel" section sums up the idea. Nine lessons add a pre-mortem exercise.
  3. Two journal prompts. The "Complete protocol" button stays off until you answer both. A finished lesson earns 25 Discipline Points.

Lessons 1-3 of a track are Concept, 4-6 Technique and 7-10 Protocol, and they open in order. Some titles name clinical approaches, such as "Exposure Therapy" in Mastering Fear and "Acceptance Commitment (ACT)" in Stopping Tilt. Those lessons draw on ideas from the approaches; they are not therapy.

How do Discipline Points, ranks and Streak Shields work?

Discipline Points reward the routine, never the result. Daily habits count once a day:

ActionDiscipline Points
Sign the Daily Pledge20 (once a day)
Finish a reset10 (once a day)
Write a journal entry15 (once a day)
Finish a lesson25 each
Every 7-day streak block50 bonus
P&L or a Tilt Protocol log0

Points set your rank. The six ranks and their thresholds are Recruit (0), Apprentice (150), Operator (500), Professional (1,200), Veteran (2,500) and Master (5,000). A day with a pledge, a reset, a journal entry and one lesson earns 70 points. Seven of those days in a row add the 50-point block, for 540 points, which passes Operator.

Streaks. A day counts when you sign the pledge, finish a reset, log a Tilt Protocol outcome, write in the journal or finish a lesson. Weekends and NYSE holidays never break a streak, and doing something on one still adds a day.

Streak Shields. You earn one Streak Shield for every 7 days in a row and can bank up to 2. If you miss a trading day, a shield is spent automatically and the streak survives. With no shield left, it resets. A 35-day calendar shows each day as showed up, shielded, rest day or missed.

The Ascent. A longer map of 22 milestones in 6 chapters, all about consistency, none about P&L:

ChapterMilestonesExample goal
1. The Awakening3Sign your first pledge
2. The Practitioner4Hold a 3-day streak
3. The Architect4Score 60+ readiness on 5 days

5. The Operator4Finish 40 lessons
6. Named after your identity460 lessons, a 30-day streak, 40 pledges, 25 days at 80+

In chapter 4 the track follows your quiz answer: Revenge Trading, Killing FOMO, Taming Greed (for over-leveraging) or Mastering Fear, with Stopping Tilt for any other answer.

What is Tribe, the TradeMind community?

Tribe is a forum inside the app. You can sort posts by New, Trending or Top, search, like and comment. A post has a headline, one of five tags (Win High, Drawdown, Tilted, Flow or Stuck) and a body, and your rank shows under your name. You can delete your own posts.

Every other day, a clearly labelled TradeMind account (@trademind, marked "Official") posts a question, a lesson spotlight or a small challenge, such as journaling every trade for 3 days. It never posts as an invented trader.

When does TradeMind send reminders?

Reminders follow the NYSE calendar in US Eastern time, not your local exchange. Each time you open the app, it reschedules the next 10 trading days. Market reminders skip weekends and NYSE holidays; only the Sunday briefing and Weekend Wisdom fall on weekends.

ReminderWhenCategory

You can switch each of the five categories off in Profile.

What doesn't TradeMind do?

It helps to know the limits before you download anything:

  • No broker or prop-firm connection. It cannot see your account or block a trade.
  • No trade import and no P&L analytics. The journal holds text or voice notes with five mood tags (Calm, Focused, Anxious, Greedy, Revenge), not trade records.
  • No signals and no advice. It never tells you what to buy or sell, or how much.
  • iPhone only. It is built for iPhone. There is no Android or web version, and no version designed for iPad or Mac.
  • Not therapy. Dr. Noesis is an AI coach, and the lessons are education.

How do I use TradeMind alongside a trade journal?

Use a trade journal for the numbers and TradeMind for the session. A journal tells you after the fact that you took four trades after a loss. TradeMind is meant for the moment before the fifth: the trade cap you pledged before the open and the Tilt Protocol one tap away.

A simple split: import and review trades in your journal at the weekend, and write the "why" in TradeMind on the day. If you are still choosing a journal, our comparison of trading psychology apps lists which ones import trades. For what to write, see these trading psychology journal prompts.

How much does TradeMind cost?

The download is free, and so is the in-app 8-question quiz with its result. Everything else needs TradeMind Pro. There is also a free trading psychology test on this site that needs no app.

The two TradeMind Pro plans:

PlanUS priceFree trial
TradeMind Pro Monthly$12.99 a monthNone
TradeMind Pro Yearly$89.99 a year3 days, for people Apple considers eligible

Prices are in US dollars; your local App Store price may differ. You buy and cancel through your Apple ID, and a subscription renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. See pricing on the homepage, or support for restoring purchases and deleting your account.

Key terms

TradeMind Daily Pledge
A pre-market commitment in TradeMind: a daily loss limit in dollars or R, a maximum number of trades (1-12), one if-then guardrail and an oath, sealed with a 1.5-second press and hold. One per day, self-reported, with no broker connection.
TradeMind Trader Readiness score
A 0-100 self-reflection score in TradeMind: pledge +40, mindset reset +30, pre-market checklist up to +30, +5 for a streak over 3 days, +5 per resisted urge and -20 per tilt. Capped at 60 without a pledge and at 50 on a day you tilt. Not a validated measure.
TradeMind Tilt Protocol
TradeMind's three-step routine for the moment an urge hits: pick the state (Revenge, FOMO, Fear, Boredom or Tilted) and rate it 1-10, read six cards over a front-camera mirror that records nothing, then log 'I chose to resist' or 'I tilted'.
Discipline Points
TradeMind's process points: 20 for the pledge, 10 for a reset and 15 for a journal entry (each once a day), 25 per lesson, and 50 for every 7-day streak block. Never awarded for P&L or tilt logs. They set your rank, from Recruit to Master.
Streak Shield
In TradeMind, one shield is earned for every 7 days in a row, up to 2 banked. A shield is spent automatically on a missed trading day so the streak survives. Weekends and NYSE holidays never break a streak.
The Ascent
TradeMind's long-term progress map: 22 milestones in 6 chapters, all consistency goals such as pledges signed, lessons finished, streaks and days at a readiness level. None is based on P&L.

Frequently asked questions

Is TradeMind only on iPhone?

Yes. TradeMind: Trading Psychology is built for iPhone (App Store ID 6761249038), on iOS 17.6 or later, and there is no Android or web version. The homepage gives the short tour of this trading psychology app for iPhone. For other apps, and where they fit better, see our comparison of trading psychology apps, which we wrote as TradeMind's maker.

Can TradeMind stop me from placing a trade?

No. TradeMind has no connection to your broker, platform or prop-firm account, so it cannot block orders or close positions. The pledge, the limits and the Tilt Protocol only work if you use them. If you want a hard stop, use the loss-limit tools your broker or firm offers as well.

Does TradeMind work for futures, forex and crypto traders?

The routines do not depend on the market: the loss limit can be set in dollars or in R, and the Tilt Protocol and lessons are about behaviour, not instruments. The reminders follow the NYSE calendar in US Eastern time, so traders in other sessions will find them less well timed.

Does logging a tilt cost me Discipline Points?

No. Tilt Protocol outcomes never earn or cost Discipline Points. They change today's readiness score (+5 for resisting, -20 and a cap of 50 for tilting) and count as a streak day, so being honest about a tilt does not break your streak.

Can I listen to the lessons with the screen locked?

Yes. Lesson audio keeps playing in the background and shows on the lock screen, with 15-second skip controls. The two journal prompts at the end of each lesson need the app open.
